New Comic by Mohanna.io Challenges How We Think About Risk: Two Women. One System.

July 2025 marked a fresh step in risk communication with the release of Two Women. One System., a comic developed by Mohanna Eljabaly and published through Mohanna.io. The illustrated narrative features Lina and Salma — two professionals operating within the same humanitarian system, but guided by distinctly different mindsets when it comes to managing and sharing risk.

“This isn’t just a story. It’s a mirror held up to the sector,” says Mohanna. “Lina represents risk transfer: protect the institution at all costs. Salma pushes for risk sharing — not just in words, but in practice.”

The comic presents a side-by-side comparison of the two characters through six visual panels each, touching on areas like partnership behavior, accountability structures, power dynamics, and learning environments. It highlights the often-unseen differences between performing compliance and practicing solidarity — especially in local–international collaborations.

The visual format is deliberate. “It’s simple, accessible, and disarming,” Mohanna explains. “People let their guard down when they see a comic. That opens the door to honest conversations about power, trust, and responsibility.”

The comic is available in both languages:

Released under the theme “Two Women. One System.”, the comic is already being used in workshops and internal reflections to help organizations rethink how risk practices reinforce — or challenge — systemic imbalances.

The piece also complements a wider set of initiatives launched by Mohanna.io, including free online courses, digital tools, and learning resources designed to promote equitable risk governance in humanitarian and development contexts.

With strong early feedback from practitioners, facilitators, and donors, the comic represents not only a creative learning tool — but a quiet call for change.
