Over 100 Participants Join Mohanna Eljabaly’s Risk Management Session for Yemen’s NNGO Forum

In a powerful show of engagement and collaboration, more than 100 participants from national NGOs across Yemen joined a high-impact virtual session titled “Fundamentals of Risk Management in Humanitarian Projects,” delivered by Mohanna Eljabaly, General Manager of Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA), on July 28, 2025.

Organized by the NNGO Forum under the coordination of Ms. Marwa Mohsen, this session is the first in a series aimed at building practical skills in risk management among local humanitarian actors. The turnout was unprecedented, reflecting the growing demand for structured tools and knowledge to navigate uncertainties in project planning and implementation.

The session covered:

  • Key definitions, benefits, and the evolution of risk management

  • Risk identification methods tailored for humanitarian settings

  • Qualitative analysis of likelihood and impact

  • Risk response planning strategies for threats and opportunities

  • Tools for risk monitoring, response updates, and continuous review

Participants engaged through live examples and interactive inputs, with several national organizations noting how these concepts will directly inform their project risk registers and response plans.

This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to localize risk governance and equip NGOs with frameworks that enhance accountability and resilience. A follow-up session will be announced soon as part of the Forum’s broader agenda.
